Everything you need to know

We're looking forward to seeing you on Ballan Cup Day - November 9th, 2024. To assist in your planning, here is some key information about the event:

ENTRY

Entrance to the Racecourse – 12:00PM or one hour before the race
Silks Dining Room / Winning Post Lounge / Punter’s Club Lounge – 12.30PM
Beverage Package Service including the Marquee Beverage Package Bar – Begins 30 minutes prior to the Start of the First Race or as communicated

Please Note: Race schedules like to keep us on our toes and we won’t know exact timings until closer to the big day, consider this more of a guide. Be sure to check our social media and form guides closer to the day for the most up to date info! We'd love to give you an exact time, but that's just not how it rolls in the racing world. Stay tuned and flexible—it's all part of the fun!

Please note that the official race times will be confirmed the Thursday preceding the Cup. The following are preliminary times only:
Anticipated times: First Race at 1:00 PM
Ballan Cup (Race 7) at approximately 4:45 PM
Final Race at around 5:30 PM

You can sign up for the Fashions on the Field from 12.00PM (or when the gates open)

BALLAN CUP COMMUNITY RAFFLE PARTNER

This year, we are delighted to partner with the Ballan Fire Brigade for the Ballan Cup Raffle. Ticket sellers will be positioned around the racecourse for your convenience. Please support our local community!

MARQUEE HOLDERS

For those with reserved marquees, your name will be displayed on your marquee for easy identification. If you have pre-ordered a beverage package, your marquee will be located within the designated beverage package zone. Please ensure you wear your beverage package wristband at all times during the event to allow for easy recognition.

ACCESS WRISTBANDS FOR SILKS DINING, WINNING POST LOUNGE AND PUNTER’S CLUB LOUNGE

Wristbands will be mailed to you 7-10 days prior to the event. These wristbands gain entry to the racecourse and your specific room. Make sure your wristband is securely fastened throughout the day.

PACKAGE INCLUSIONS

The Silks Package provides beer, wine, sparkling wine, cider and soft drinks and a three course meal with table service. Beverages are available from 30 minutes before the first race until the start of the last race. The Winning Post and the Punter’s Club Lounges offers a grazing food lunch and a cash bar.

RACEBOOKS

Complimentary racebooks will be given to guests in the Silks Dining Room and Winning Post Lounge. Additionally, racebooks can be purchased at the Welcome Marquee upon entry

DRESS CODE

We kindly ask that all guests adhere to a smart casual dress code in the Silks Dining, Winning Post Lounge and Punter’s Club Lounge areas. We are relaxed and casual country racing event and happy for you to dress comfy!

ATMS

An ATM can be found in the public area behind the Briseis Stand. Please note that Eftpos facilities are not available at the betting areas.

VEHICLE PARKING

Parking for cars is available across from the racecourse on Breakwater Rd. Please be aware that due to current V-Line construction, parking spaces are more limited than usual.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT OPTIONS

For V-Line packages, please call 1800 800 007 or visit www.vline.com.au. Bus services from Ballan and Bacchus Marsh are only $10 and can be booked on this website, in the tickets and packages section.

ALCOHOL POLICY

Please be aware that bringing your own alcoholic drinks into or out of the racecourse is not permitted.

SMOKING RESTRICTIONS

Smoking is prohibited inside any of the dining areas or grandstands.

EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY & SOCIAL MEDIA DISCLOSURE

Please note that by attending the Ballan Cup and purchasing a ticket, you agree that your image may be captured by our event photographers and used for promotional and marketing purposes by the Ballan Jockey Club. If you do not wish to have your photo taken, kindly notify the photographer during the event, and we will ensure your request is respected.

CODE OF CONDUCT

We are committed to ensuring that Ballan Cup Day is an enjoyable and safe event for all attendees. Intoxication, violence, or any form of disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated. We ask that everyone drinks responsibly, respects fellow racegoers, event staff, and volunteers, and refrains from offensive language or actions. Please adhere to all event guidelines, and in case of any issues, follow the instructions of our event staff.

Our goal is to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. We enforce a strict no tolerance stance on disruptive behaviour. Such conduct may lead to eviction by police or security from the racecourse.
